Mickaël Boulley is the founder of adventcalendar.co.uk, an editorial guide dedicated to Advent calendars. He launched the UK edition in 2022, building on the French original he started in 2017.
He follows release dates and prices all year round across three markets: France, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Since 2017, more than 300 Advent calendars have been examined and compared, and more than 700 references are tracked in the catalogue.
The site neither makes nor sells calendars: it compares, cites its sources and flags any information that is not confirmed.
The business model relies on affiliate links to retailers, with no impact on the opinion published or the price you pay.

Adventus
120 years. From its beginnings to the present day, the tradition of Advent calendars has crossed borders, overcome language barriers and opened people’s minds, despite the history and the events it has lived through.
Today, the Advent calendar is still free of rules: from chocolate to beauty, from children to adults, from the youngest to the oldest, it is now free to be offered to whoever wants it, whatever their tastes, gender or age.
By offering you unique visibility across the whole range of Advent calendars, we want to believe in the power of pleasure, for ourselves and for others. And by celebrating their diversity and creativity, we are convinced that everyone can find an Advent calendar that suits them.
Our ambition: to keep breathing new life into this custom, this ancient tradition that has carried the same message and the same intention for 120 years, kindness and attention.
JOY. SHARING. DISCOVERY.
From inspiration to creation
«This is the story of a young man with a passion for marketing and advertising who, one day, in 2017, stumbles across a beauty Advent calendar… »
It could be the flip side of a love or adventure story, but it is even more exciting than that, because that is how it all began.
When I was young, my parents got into the habit of giving me THE famous chocolate Advent calendar, a little treat to share together, a family tradition that I carried on once I had left home.
Often at the last minute, I admit, but always in time to open my first window on 1 December.
And then one day, I discovered that there are other Advent calendars besides the chocolate ones. Beauty! But not only that! Toys! Candles! Tea! This discovery fascinated me and I surprised everyone around me with these revelations. It was something new for everyone, which no one had really heard of, yet where each person found a calendar better suited to their tastes, and better still, it made them want to treat themselves to one.
Then came the turning point in the story: « What if I shared the Advent calendars I discover? » calendrierdelavent.com was born in France.
100.. 150.. 200.. 250… Year after year, I marvel at the new Advent calendars and the new brands that appear. In 2022, I brought this passion to the United Kingdom with adventcalendar.co.uk. More than a project, it is now a passion that drives me.
A vocation whose soul has not changed, on the contrary: it has become part of a wider ambition, one driven by feeling and experience, JOY. SHARING. DISCOVERY.
My leitmotiv? That Advent should be a unique time when everyone has the chance to discover, in their Advent calendar, a surprise that suits them and gives them a singular pleasure.
Like a gift you give yourself or give to others, may the Advent calendar become a symbol charged with emotion.

How I work
Compare, not sell.
I do not make or sell calendars directly. I follow release dates and prices all year round, across three markets, I cite my sources and, when a piece of information is not confirmed, I say so clearly rather than presenting it as a certainty. The site is funded through affiliate links to retailers, which changes neither my opinion nor the price you pay.

This standard also lets me spot new releases early: alongside adventcalendar.co.uk for the United Kingdom, I run calendrierdelavent.com for France and adventskalender.com for Germany.
Offering a unique Advent
Putting the brand centre stage
Since its creation, adventcalendar.co.uk has always seen the Advent calendar as something bigger than a simple product.
It embodies a brand’s entire visual identity; more than that, it carries a unique ambition and purpose. In the space of a few days, it must offer an unforgettable experience, an exceptional discovery, an incredible flavour, a memorable keepsake… a moment full of emotion, where the brand, carrying a message, must be at the heart of the initiative.
And it is precisely because we are aware that the Advent calendar embodies the brand that we highlight it throughout each of our texts.
